Jessie Simkiss
Jessie helps organise Developing a Christian Mind conferences as Conference Coordinator. Originally from New Zealand, Jessie moved to Oxford with her husband in 2019 for her Masters in the History of Science, focusing on early modern natural philosophy and the relationship between faith and science. She then worked for the University's Policy Engagement Team, helping Humanities scholars to engage with public policymakers. She has run events and programmes for entrepreneurs and business executives, academics and policymakers, undergraduates and secondary school students. Having attended and loved the DCM conferences as a postgrad, Jessie now helps to coordinate these programmes behind the scenes.
David Williams
David is Partnerships Coordinator. Before moving to Oxford, David served as the team leader for InterVarsity’s Graduate & Faculty Ministries at New York University, directing their graduate, law, medical, and international student ministries from 2013 to 2018. David has earned masters degrees in Biblical studies from Westminster Theological Seminary (Philadelphia) and Duke Divinity School, and is currently pursuing an MPhil in Christian Ethics at Oxford University focusing on theologies of higher education. David is currently the president of the Oxford Graduate Christian Forum and continues to serve part-time with InterVarsity/Link as a missionary to postgraduate students in the U.K..
Kirsten Mackerras
Kirsten Mackerras helps organise the Developing a Christian Mind conferences as Administration Coordinator. She also works as Project Researcher for the Oxford Pastorate. Kirsten completed a DPhil in Early Christian studies at the University of Oxford, which explored how Christians commended their faith to educated elites within the Roman empire. Originating from Canberra, Australia, Kirsten has also studied Theology and Ancient History at Brisbane School of Theology and Macquarie University.
