Conference and Events Coordinator

Duration: One year contract with the option to renew. The ideal candidate would remain in post for a 3-year period or longer. Flexible start between September and October 2025.

Remuneration: c. £34,634 rising to £36,019 (pro rata 0.2-0.4 FTE) + pension if eligible*

*Pension contribution would be accrued on a 12+ hour position. 

Hours: 8-16 hours: This role involves a minimum of 8-16 hours per week (averaged over the year) working on the coordination of the DCM conferences. In addition, the candidate could take on 2 hours of work per week supporting the Oxford Pastorate’s wider portfolio of graduate, research and cultural events.

Location: 1-2 days a week working from home or, potentially, 54 Marston Street (co-working space)
Reporting to: Top Managers, Prof Ard Louis, Revd Dr Jonathan Brant, Prof Lionel Tarassenko, DCM Leadership; Overall Manager, Dr Bethan Willis, The Oxford Pastorate Chaplain

Qualities of Ideal Candidate:

  • Has right to work in the UK 

  • Able to work flexible hours leading up to events

  • Gifted in event planning, logistics and management

  • Enjoys and is skilled at developing relationships with individuals and partners

  • Can simultaneously drive towards big picture goals while paying attention to details 

  • Relational and emotionally intelligent

  • Willing to work actively with guests and materials for 6-8 hour periods during events 

  • Can plan ahead and work to deadlines well

  • Works quickly, accurately, and can problem solve with compassion under pressure 

  • Excellent with technology and enjoys spreadsheets and organizational administration

  • Passionate about our mission and service to Christian postgrads and faculty
