In Colossians 1, Paul offers a cosmic vision of creation and new creation. He insists that all the multidimensional truth of the present creation 'holds together' in Jesus the Messiah, and that his resurrection launches the new creation in which the tragedies of the present world are healed. Firmly rejecting all dualism, this invites thinkers in every sphere to reflect on how their own subject-matter already coheres with the larger truths of the world and offers fresh possibilities of redemptive strategies.  This talk was given by Rt Revd Prof N.
